These new paintings are an homage to the Italian Painter Gorgio Morandi.
Morandi was a minor figure in art who devoted himself to painting objects within his immediate surroundings. These objects were often the same ones and usually nailed to a table and boringly presented. In these paintings I have painted similar objects nailed to a board, sometimes covered with fabric, foil, or whatever was handy.
