Lakeview Motel Tales of the Underinformed is my third collection of short fiction and illustrations (one for each of the 14 stories)
The characters in Lakeview Motel are underinformed, misinformed, or sometimes criminally negligent. Occasionally they act out of good intentions but their failure to grasp all the nuances of the situations in which they find themselves, usually leads them to trouble of one sort or another.
Her mother's hair, still dark and luxurious, spread out over the snow-covered earth. The picture had been taken from above. The two of them ... laughing ... lying next to each other in the snow, arms and legs splayed like Leonardo da Vinci's drawing of the human proportions. She was so flat. There's these guys, Cartel says, that come up with one kind of diet or another and lot's of people buy in. He says if your book gets to be on the New York Times best-seller list that all your troubles are over because you get a cut on every book they sell. I figure I'm going to get in on this action.
